A Very Woeful Farewell

Posted by Emily on 21st December 2007

Finally it’s the end of the year! Time to move on for Year 6, (and more work for Year 5!). So many memories! It’ll be very sad for the Year 6’s because so many friends, they will not see for a long, long, time.  This is a message to all the Year 5’s at B.S.P.S – Good luck in the future and always be your self! And this is a message to all the Year 6’s that are moving to high school at B.S.P.S – Always remember, there is more to you than meets the eye. Also, remember to be yourself and good luck in high school! Happy holidays everybody!

New Leaders for 2008

Posted by Emily on 26th November 2007

Every year our school votes 2 school Captains but before all that happens they have to apply to become either a Student Executive, Peer Mediator or both!

So many applicants so little time! Eventually a decision was made on who would move on to  the next stage…. INTERVIEWS!  Now interviews were 1 of the hardest parts of the long road to being school captain, There are 4 adults and 2 of this years leaders they were Mrs Knight , Ms Leonard , Ms Harrison and Mrs Gribert, a parent. The 2 leaders were Me and Yilmaz. We went through alot of yr5’s who really want to be a school leader, it was very tiring but very good experience. Today we are going to find out who is going to make it to the next stage …. THE SPEECHES!!!

High School Training

Posted by Emily on 14th November 2007

While Yr3 learn how to be tolerant and considerate people and Yr’s 4 and 5  do leadership, Yr 6’s do… High School Training! We started our first session by asking questions about what we would like to know about High School. Our Second lesson was more interesting, we did a program called …… Um I sort of forgot           :opps:

We did all sorts of games on the program like getting ready for school in different condisions, help collecting rubbbish of the play, Doing quizies and loads more.

Our next session was about if we could change somthing what would it be? We took turns so everybody could have a say.

Thats all we have done for now.

If you could change 1 thing in the entire world what would it be?

Disco’s, enjoyable or a nightmare?

Posted by Emily on 12th November 2007

Disco’s are always just fun and enjoyable, Disco’s are for dancing and fun. Our school had a disco but in my opinion it was just frustrating…

Friday the 9th was the day of our disco. Before our disco we soled cakes and drinks to raise money for the Yr6 Farewell. It was incredibly successful and so was how many people paid for the disco. In no time at all it was time to disco!! The K-2 and 3-6 had separate disco because they enjoy different music. Unfortunately there were no colourful lights and no disco ball         :(

So we had to dance in the dark but as soon as the lights went out everybody  started to SCREAM!!!! So the teachers turned on the lights told everybody to stop screaming! After explaining the lights went out and things started to become FUN!!

After awhile The DJ wanted to go dance so me and my friends took over for him. All was well until… A non Hip Hop song came on and everybody came up to us and COMPLAINED!!  The SRC gave the students the decision of song choice and they come and COMPLAIN!!! I understand the people who have’nt herd there pop songs and I’m really sorry that we didn’t have the chance to play.

There were many better disco’s than this but It was okay.

Paradise or Hell ?

Posted by Emily on 9th November 2007

Camping, Paradise or Hell ? Well, some think that Camping is sleeping in the bush in tents while others think that Camp is sleeping in your backyard, but the Camp I went to is more fun…

At the beginning of the school week Stage 3 went to an amazing place at it was…   Camp!!, The Camp site was called Rethane. So many activities so little time only 3 days of fun filled with excitement. I think it should at least be about a week. Any way we fit in 6 activities and they were Canoeing , River Ride, Indoor rock climbing, pool rafting and best of all.. WATERSLIDE!!!  We did all this with the help of our instructors Earl, Tim Tam, Angelo and Rachel. Canoeing was really fun even though I am extremely scared of the ocean, the funniest moment was when 1 of our canoes capzised… TWICE!. The River Ride was really relaxing all you did was sit down and listen to what your instructor says about the National park. Indoor Rock climbing was fantastic! You had to wear giant harnesses and they had different colours to represent the level of difficult, I almost made it to the top! Doing pool rafting was fun! You make a raft and race it in the swimming pool, lots of fun     :)         All of those activities were great but the best out of the activities would have to be The Waterslide!! You can go with a partner or by yourself but you get more screams if you go with a friend, the best part of the Waterslide is when you go down a smaller slide and go even faster!! At the end water splashes into your face! It’s so cool! Sadly it had to end      :(           But paying $220 for Camp was totally worth it.
