History Never Repeats: True or False??
Posted by Emily on August 20, 2007
This week the 07 allstars have been investigating different periods in history like The ancient civilizations, the medieval era and the modern era. We have to chose 3 countries to research the different time periods( the time periods are in bold).
The countries I am doing are Ancient China, Medieval Spain and Modern Era France. Here are some interesting facts about each civilization:
Ancient China-
- The Chinese invented paper, gunpowder, matches, the compass, the seismograph and the umbrella
- Ancient China didn’t have banks
- The Great Wall of China was built to keep the Mongols and Turkic Tribes out of China.
Medieval Spain
- Medieval Spain was a battlefield where Christians tried to regain control from the Moors
- The Moors invaded Spain before the 8th Century
Modern Era France
- France fought in the First world war along with Britain, Russia vs Germany and Austria.
- Jacques Chirac became Prime Minister of France in 1986
- Jacques was the 22nd president of the French Republic
