The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane Reveiw
Posted by Emily on June 24, 2007
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is about a China Rabbit called Edward who hasn’t loved before. He is owned by a girl called Abilene who loves him very much but he doesn’t really care. One night, Abilene’s grandmother named Pellegrina told Edward and her a story about a princess who was turned into a warthog because she didn’t love anybody even though many loved her. A few days later The Tulanes travel to London but Pellegrina stays in Eghpt Street. On the way to London 2 boys named Martin and Amos took Edward from Abilene and started throwing him , Abilene tackled Amos and Edward fell over board. He spent 297 days in the ocean until on the 297 day he was found by a fisherman called Lawrence. Lawrence took Edward home and gave him to his wife Nellie ( she thought Edward was a girl and named him Susanna), they were very happy until their daughter Lolly put Edward in the garbage bin. He ended up at a dump and every day he would listen to Ernest who said he was the king of the world. He spent 118 days at the dump until on that day a dog named Lucy and a man called Bull found him. They loved him as well then he was lost again. The last people to love him were Bryce and Sarah Ruth who later died. After Sarah Ruth died Bryce didn’t have a job so he made Edward dance for money. He finally thought that he had enough money to buy some food so he went to a diner called Neal’s Diner, but unfortunatley he didn’t have enough. The chef and the boss of the diner Neal broke Edward into 21 pieces. Bryce gave Edward to a doll maker to fix Edward but he wanted somthing in return, he wanted Edward. Bryce said okay and never saw Edward again. Edward is displayed for many days until someone buys him. The person who bought him was Maggie Abilene’s daughter.

Did Edward learn to love in the end?
Did Abilenes daughter find out that Edward had once belonged to her mother?
