The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane Reveiw

Posted by Emily on 24th June 2007

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is about a China Rabbit called Edward who hasn’t loved before. He is owned by a girl called Abilene who loves him very much but he doesn’t really care. One night, Abilene’s grandmother named Pellegrina told Edward and her a story about a princess who was turned into a warthog because she didn’t love anybody even though many loved her. A few days later The Tulanes travel to London but Pellegrina stays in Eghpt Street. On the way to London 2 boys named Martin and Amos took Edward from Abilene and started throwing him , Abilene tackled Amos and Edward fell over board. He spent 297 days in the ocean until on the 297 day he was found by a fisherman called Lawrence. Lawrence took Edward home and gave him to his wife Nellie ( she thought Edward was a girl and named him Susanna), they were very happy until their daughter Lolly put Edward in the garbage bin. He ended up at a dump and every day he would listen to Ernest who said he was the king of the world. He spent 118 days at the dump until on that day a dog named Lucy and a man called Bull found him. They loved him as well then he was lost again. The last people to love him were Bryce and Sarah Ruth who later died. After Sarah Ruth died Bryce didn’t have a job so he made Edward dance for money. He finally thought that he had enough money to buy some food so he went to a diner called Neal’s Diner, but unfortunatley he didn’t have enough. The chef and the boss of the diner Neal broke Edward into 21 pieces. Bryce gave Edward to a doll maker to fix Edward but he wanted somthing in return, he wanted Edward. Bryce said okay and never saw Edward again. Edward is displayed for many days until someone buys him. The person who bought him was Maggie Abilene’s daughter.

Thinking about Samorost

Posted by Emily on 22nd June 2007

Yellow Hat:Positive

It was interesting and fun to write about Samorost because we did alot of thinking and imagining. It reacquired alot of thinking to write imaginative sentences about Samorost. It was fun playing Samorost because we worked as a team.

Black Hat: Negative

There was one thing about writing about Samorost that was really difficult, it was writing the very first sentences when you had no idea what to write.

Red Hat: Emotion

I liked Samorost writing because of the imaginative writing.

Samorost- Anteater Level Description

Posted by Emily on 20th June 2007

Yesterday, our class wrote about the anteater level  on Samorost. We wrote what it felt like being Sammy. I wrote this…

Swinging like a pendulum the sphere on the rusty chains starts descending through a pitch black tunnel unaware were I will end up. I hear mysterious noises as if someone is following me through it.Suddenly the sphere with a thud stops descending, anxiously I stand and cautiously look through the bar windows as if I was in jail. I see a forest of plated tree roots. I turn the nob and peer down at the forest floor, mushrooms.. there were mushrooms beneath me, I jump as if my life depended on it. After landing on the ground I at the surroundings and see so many different thing like, an anteater looking very hungry, a stair case leading up to a shack with steel walls. I feel excited and without thinking I run to the stairs… SLURP!!! Where am I ? I carefully tiptoe around unaware were I am…. PPLARR!!! I’m back! I look up nervously I see a very hungry anteater !!  I study the anteater extremely carefully and find out that when ever an ant comes by I can pass. I wait for an ant to come by and run up the stairs, I sigh a sigh of relief and continue scampering up. When I reach the the shack I try to open the door, it won’t budge I look around trying to find a solution and then I see a security pad. I stare at the door and see dots and I stare at the security pad again, I think for a while and get the solution. The dots on the door is the code. I type it in a hurry, it works! I step through the door  and continue my journey to stop the coalition with this planet…..

Samorost Sentences

Posted by Emily on 14th June 2007

On Tuesday the 07 allstars wrote interesting sentences describing The Plant Samorost. Mrs P showed us pictures of Samorost to get ideas. These are some of the ones I wrote.

Drifting through the stars, the ghostly inhabitants of the peaceful planet await the arrival of another sign of life in space.

A peaceful planet, surrounded by mist, floated through the isolation of space waiting for some thing thrilling to happen.
